Breakfast

So this morning I told my boyfriend I was hungry, so we went downstairs and made breakfast.
Or, rather, I made breakfast, and he just asked me to make him what he wanted. He dicided that he wanted "biscuits" and gravy, but really it was toast and gravy. So he used the left over gravy from the fridge, just heated it up in the microwave.
I made myself an over-easy egg, then he wanted a sunny side up, so I made him one also. I made it just how my Mum had always told me, use vegetable oil in the pan, and then put the egg in it without breaking the yoke, and then use the hot oil and a spoon to pour on the top and cook the top of the egg. Makes sunny side up without breaking it!!
Then I wanted baccon, so I made six pieces (three for me, and three for him) and I can tell you, the bacon was perfectly crispy! I've never made bacon so well! (I used the same pan, with the same vegetable oil from earlier)
Then... He decided he didn't have enough gravy on his toast, so since I had just made bacon, he wanted some gravy.
I've never made gravy, as much of a country girl that I am, I don't even like gravy!
So we Googled how to make brown gravy on his crackblackberry.

Bacon grease
2 tbsp of flour
1 cup of water
Lots of pepper

Pan on high heat, mix slowly and then simmer on low until thick enough.

According to him, it was delicious! And my egg, bacon, and toast sandwich was too.
There is nothing better in the world than an over-easy, or sunny side up egg where the yoke is still runny and it gets all over your plate! (That's what the toast is for ;-])

Food Wrangler!

Okay, so my current obsession of photography is of Macarons! I've never had one, but these little cookie things are just gorgeous in photos. I wanted to share some of them:

The last photo here of the "Minty Macs" is by a woman named Kaitlin, and after browsing through her gallery on deviantArt.com, I have found that she may be the same age as me, but she has far surpassed me in food photography. Which is my favorite thing to photograph. Her photography is showing very much promise for a wonderfully (paid) food wrangler in the future.
Here are some of her work, and each photo (just like the above ones) link back to their source.

I hope to see more photos to come from her! Here is also a link to her blog: http://whisk-kid.blogspot.com/

I feel like I have ranted enough about the beauty of Macarons (among other things).

Peace, Love, and Kisses,
Caroline

A New Start

So, it would seem that I decided to start a new blog. It's not like I don't already have...1..2...8+ blogs. Dang.
Well then! Let us see, I think I'll start with a little bit about me and my life.

My real and true name is Caroline Sheets (pronounced Care-o-line), but I have been called Mimi Dawn, or just Mimi for about 8 years now. I'm 18 currently, but I'll be 19 in 19 days, which I did not realize the irony of the numbers until I counted the days just now. I feel wise beyond my years some days, however.
I'm currently a student of the college of humanity and sciences at my university. I'm majoring in Forensic Biology, but I'm contemplating minoring in Latin and Roman Studies. And no, I do not speak Latin (well, rather, read and write it) I can (read and write) speak French. Kinda. I did take 3 semesters of it in high school.

Well I'm currently looking for a culinary school, for my boyfriend. It's getting kind of hard to do since he hasn't been in school for going on three years and has never taken an S.A.T.
If anyone reading this has any tips, help? =]

Peace, Love, and Kisses
